The U.S. Consular Agency in Mazatlan would like to encourage all U.S. Citizens traveling or living in Mexico to register with the Consular Agency or at the nearest Consulate. Registration is particularly important for those who plan to stay in the country longer than one month, or who will travel to places that are prone to natural disasters or unstable political situations. You can register your trip with the State Department at www.travel.state.gov Although, for those who reside in Mazatlan and in the surrounding areas, we recommend registering directly with the Consular Agency in Mazatlan. Your registration will make your presence and whereabouts known for the sole purpose of quickly contacting you, a friend or a family member in the event of an emergency. We cannot assist you if we do not know where you are. NOTE: Those who are already registered at the U.S. Consular Agency in Mazatlan, need to re-register if you initially registered more than 3 years ago.
In addition to registering with the Consulate, we strongly suggest that you always leave a detailed itinerary and a copy of your passport with a relative or friend in the United States. In accordance with the Privacy Act, information on your welfare and whereabouts may not be released to inquirers without your expressed written authorization. Please pick up a registration form at our office located in front of Playa Mazatlan Hotel in the Golden Zone.
